The Masonic Villages in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania resides within 1,400 acres of Lancaster County farmland and offers retirement living cottages, apartments, and studios, amidst stately granite buildings, modern cottages, pristine gardens, and glistening ponds.
This retirement community boasts over 30 resident-run clubs, dozens of amenities and wellness opportunities, personal care and nursing services, and a wide variety of retirement living spaces.
The fitness center at the Masonic Villages was five years in the making due to the vision of creating a brand new wellness center in the heart of the campus. They sought out a new space that was more desirable and would accommodate all of their fitness equipment.
Additionally, the Masonic Villages wellness center is open to the community, residents on campus and the employees and their families. In order to increase memberships, they needed to stay current and competitive. Some of the equipment within their existing facility were almost 20 years old and the staff knew it was time to update and refresh their antiquated equipment.
Precor authorized representative, Emily Levey, with Advantage Sport and Fitness, worked with Stacy Schroder, Director of Wellness and Prevention, to develop a solution that would be intuitive and easy to use for their seniors, provide a clean and inviting atmosphere, as well as produce valuable information on the back-end for administrators to track usage on their equipment.
They chose to install a total of fifteen new Precor Experience™ Series cardio equipment with the intuitive P82 console. Providing user friendly, state of the art entertainment viewing systems on every product were critical factors in the decision making process. The variety of workout programs, quality of the equipment, and having the capability to share information about activities and services led to their final decision.
Since installing the new Precor equipment, Masonic Villages has had an overwhelming amount of people joining their wellness center. The staff has done a wonderful job of training exercisers on the new equipment to ensure they have a positive experience, and they are all excited about the latest technology. Everybody is thrilled with the look and feel of the new center and in the words of one of their members; “The Wellness Center looks like a high end club in New York City!”
