Precor® launches integration of EveryMove technology into the Preva® open platform
Users can seamlessly track fitness activities via Preva while earning real life rewards on EveryMove
LAS VEGAS, NV — International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association’s (IHRSA) annual convention and tradeshow, Booth #1573 — March 20, 2013 — Precor, a leading home and commercial fitness equipment manufacturer, today announced the first integration of EveryMove technology into its networked fitness solution Preva®, a cloud-based platform solution that benefits both exercisers and fitness facility operators.
Preva, available on Precor 880 cardio line touch-screen equipment, is the industry’s first open platform solution. Launched in 2010, Preva has already recorded more than 25 million workouts. Preva delivers a state-of-the-art fitness experience to exercisers and also boosts business results for fitness facility operators by providing powerful retention tools. One of these is the ability for exercisers to create their own fitness profile, set goals and track weekly progress while earning fun badges for their achievements.
Precor data shows that Preva exercisers who set a weekly goal visit their fitness facility an average of a day and a half more per week than the average exerciser. The power of this retention tool is now amplified with the EveryMove integration. EveryMove’s innovative technology platform enables consumers to track and capture their healthy activities and convert that information into rewards from brands, their employer, their health care provider, and even their gym.
Through the integration of EveryMove, Preva not only provides exercisers with emotionally rewarding recognition badges, but also offers tangible achievement rewards from a variety of popular brands. Users connect their Preva account to EveryMove and workout data recorded while using Preva-enabled Precor fitness equipment seamlessly earns EveryMove points. Points can be used to earn toward incentives and gym operators can even participate to drive secondary spend from their members.
“Preva is building an ecosystem of strategic partners specifically designed to create compelling and meaningful exerciser experiences that will help facility operators maximize their business results,” said Brent Brooks, Vice President of Networked Fitness at Precor. “EveryMove is a centerpiece of this strategy by providing an instant link to many of the top fitness tracking devices from one portal.”
Precor launched the first public integration of Preva and EveryMove earlier this month at the Magnuson Athletic Club in Seattle and the reception from the club members was very positive, Brooks said. The companies are planning a nationwide rollout at additional clubs in 2013, as well as to expand the program internationally.
Preston Crouser, General Manager of Magnuson Athletic Club added, “We have already seen a lot of excitement from our members to earn rewards from the Preva workouts that they’re already doing. Additionally, with Magnuson Athletic Club as an EveryMove reward partner, our members and even non-members can earn free services such as personal training sessions with their EveryMove points. We see this as a great opportunity to reward our members, increase secondary services spend and attract new members.”
“Imagine: go to the gym and work out on your favorite Precor equipment and if you’ve connected your EveryMove account, just let that information magically appear in EveryMove and earn you points toward rewards,” said EveryMove CEO Russell Benaroya. “It creates a killer seamless experience that is unlike anything else in the market. Precor is working to re-invent the future of the health and fitness industry, and we could not be more excited to be a part of that journey.”
The companies made the announcement in conjunction with the start of IHRSA 2013, the 32nd annual convention for the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association, the industry’s largest trade organization. The convention attracts health and fitness professionals from around the world.
