CES 2014 Demo: Experience How Precor® Makes Health and Fitness Personal

Precor reveals innovations in quantified self, personalized entertainment and more

Woodinville, WA and Las Vegas, NV — 2014 International CES (South Hall 2 Booth #26923) — January 7, 2014 — Precor®, the company that revolutionized the cardio equipment market with the versatile Adaptive Motion Trainer® (AMT®), today announced it will show CES attendees how the company’s Preva® networked fitness software combines with Precor exercise equipment to help exercisers achieve their fitness goals through personalized experiences that entertain and motivate. Attendees will learn how Arizona State University (ASU) and countless other exercise facilities are using Preva to promote lifelong healthy habits in consumers.

Across 56 countries, Precor has networked tens of thousands of pieces of cardio equipment using the company’s Preva networked fitness platform. Exercisers have logged more than sixty million individualized workouts to date, including 200,000 personalized workouts a month, while consuming more than five million minutes of media each day.

Visit the Precor booth to learn why Preva is the preferred choice across gyms, non-profit clubs, hotels and other fitness locations to help consumers set, track and reach fitness goals. Exercisers start by setting up a personal account using the touchscreen consoles of any Preva-enabled exercise machine (treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, AMTs, etc.) located throughout the world in nearly 2,000 fitness facilities or via the Preva Mobile app. Upon creating an account, exercisers can set a weekly goal based on the number of workout days and an associated target for calories, distance or duration per workout.

Exercisers can then use the intuitive Preva interface and fitness compass to visually see their progress against predefined goals. Built on the principles of gamification, Preva keeps exercisers motivated with achievement “badges.” Fun and educational, these badges keep users engaged, and progress can be shared on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. Exercisers attain badges such as “Earning your Wings,” rewarded for working out 18 hours in total, the length of Amelia Earhart’s first solo flight from Hawaii to California.

Workouts tracked in Preva can be automatically added into a person’s Microsoft HealthVault record for viewing together with other important health and fitness information. Consumers simply connect their accounts to Microsoft HealthVault, a secure, web-based platform to store and maintain personal health and fitness information in order to build a complete picture of health.

Attendees at CES can also learn how Precor enables exercisers to watch their favorite programs as they work out on cardio equipment, including an integrated digital media experience through DIRECTV, which delivers CNN, Comedy Central, EPSN, Food Network, HGTV and other HD channels directly to exercisers on the consoles of exercise equipment.

Take a test drive of Preva during exhibit hours at CES in South Hall 2 Booth #26923.
