The Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa is located in the heart of Vail Valley and includes a state-of-the-art athletic club. It is open 24 hours a day, offers a variety of cardio and weightlifting equipment, plus more than 70 group exercise classes per week.
Westin Hotels & Resorts strives to be the premier brand in travel wellness and they are known for operating prime luxury properties. They work hard to deliver on their motto “For a Better You” by offering the finest amenities in all of their locations, including leading edge fitness equipment in their athletic clubs.
Approximately 300 hotel guests and club members use the athletic club at the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa per day.
The personal training space was crowded and their current offerings were out of date.
Jennifer Razee, the Athletic Club Director, determined they needed to enlarge their small group and personal training space as well as offer what is trending in the fitness industry.
Jennifer and her team first saw Queenax in action at IHRSA 2015 and they were impressed with the clean design, adaptability and the functional fitness focus. They decided that Queenax would increase their floor space, offer current scientifically sound fitness options and the modern look would remain on brand for Westin.
The Queenax Bridge X2 1200 replaced six pieces of outdated strength equipment, which resulted in additional floor space, versatility and a different aesthetic. It updated the appearance and attracted exercisers while fitting in to the feel of this upscale resort. The team also installed the Queenax One Pillar Solution, which transformed a structural column in the middle of the facility into four training stations.
Upon completion of the installations, Precor flew in Master Coach, Tonya Gutch, who provided a full day training for the staff and personal trainers to learn how to utilize the system and engage their exercisers.
Since installing Queenax, the Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa has been able to expand their Queenax class offerings to include Team, Suspension Stretch, Circuit, and AIReal Yoga, which is the first of its kind in the Vail Valley. The visibility of the equipment and the exerciser engagement has increased the impact of classes as well as the exposure for their instructors and personal trainers. In the words of Jennifer Razee, “Queenax allows us to be innovative with our fitness offerings, giving us the versatility to incorporate functional movements and ultimately to make your workout more fun!”
