As we see an increasing shift in focus from national to local provision of public health and primary care services, leisure and activity providers have greater opportunities for growth in this area than ever before.

This is why we partnered with UK Active to research into the overlaps and opportunities between physical activity and primary care. To provide leisure and activity providers with a succinct overview of the primary care landscape and the opportunities available to engage in this field. This report provides practical guidance for leisure and activity providers as to how they can work with GP surgeries, local authorities, public health teams and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG’s) among others, in the provision of activity programmes - both to increase commercial value and play a more prominent role in improving the health of communities.
