Sun City Grand is an active adult community made up of 9800 homes. It opened in 1996 and is homeowner owned and operated.
This active adult community enjoys the amenities of four championship golf courses, two state of the art fitness centers, five swimming pools, tennis courts, pickleball courts, softball field, and two full restaurants.
The goal of Sun City Grand Fitness was to expose their residents to the latest advances in cardio fitness. They were looking for a streamlined design with low-rise decks, easy to read consoles, a variety of entertainment options on the touch screen along with exercise tracking to reach fitness goals.
Precor authorized representative, Suzanne Nadel, with Marathon Fitness, worked with Sun City Grand to develop a solution that would be intuitive and easy to use, while incorporating technology and entertainment options to keep their active adults motivated and engaged.
Sun City Grand installed 78 networked cardio units offering the latest in technology, with four of these offering EXOS Energy Systems Development (ESD), a personalized interval training program tailored to a person’s current ability level. They are the first active aging community to offer this prescriptive workout to their exercisers.
Since installing the new equipment, the Sun City residents have expressed appreciation for the ease of the touchscreen, the sense of safety when stepping onto the deck of the treadmills, and the comfort and ease of the step through design of the recumbent bike.
